World day of radio #MyMadagascar #MahajangaMaVille
World Radio Day by Hotel ★★★ Gourmet Restaurant Coco Lodge Majunga.
En 2012, in order to highlight the power of radio as a platform for education and freedom of expression as well as its vital role in the response to crises and disasters, UNESCO has called to celebrate the 13 February each year, a world day of radio.
All radios are invited to join this event said the spokesperson for the "UNESCO in its press release.
Inexpensive media, requiring the implementation of a relatively simple technology, the radio reaches listeners away on all points of the territory and nomadic groups. According to the international telecommunications union, more than 75% homes of developing countries have at least one radio receiver.
In order to encourage the public broadcasters, private and community to celebrate the day, l’UNESCO a créé un web site avec des messages audio en plusieurs langues ou des manuels à l’usage des radios communautaires.
A vector of freedom
We cannot conclude without a quick mention of the radio as a tool for freedom in citing some of those who remained in the history :
Radio London qui transmettait les messages à la résistance française aux plus sombres heures de l’occupation,
Radio Free Europe qui permet aux populations situées derrière le rideau de fer de recevoir une information différente de celle transmise par les autorités,
Radio Caroline qui émettait depuis un bateau
Ou encore l’épopée des free radio stations from 1981 and the end of the monopoly of State in France.
