The four partners in the consortium have successful experiences in 3 p in the airport field and that of transport infrastructure.
Symbolic laying of the first stone
The commissioning of the Ivato airport dates back to the early 1960, the time has come to engage resolutely in its extension and its modernization, responding to international standards, and IATA standards. The new airport will have an area of 20 000 m², doubling the current infrastructures. The work of extension contain three parts, including the construction of a new international terminal, with an architecture that will have the appearance of the ravinala, the traveller's tree. It will have an initial capacity of home of more than 1,5 million passengers, per year. The terminal will be equipped with 4 gateways to planes, and a tarmac capable of accommodating four jumbo jets the most recent. For its part, the current terminal will be completely renovated, and will be used for national traffic, and finally there will be the renovation of the runway, and upgrading the regulatory. The cost of the work amounted to 120 EUR million. The consortium will also invest to develop and modernise airport Fascène, at Nosy Be.
