Tourism : A new director at the head of Madagascar National Parks
After the handover ceremony with Harinaina Léon Razafindralaisa this 14 March 2024, Ms. Rakotoarisoa Ony took office as new Director of Madagascar National Parks (MNP).
Progress of the Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the premises of Madagascar National Parks in Ambatobe in the presence of the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Max Fontaine, of the Director of German Cooperation at the German Embassy in Madagascar, collaborators from Madagascar National Parks, as well as close collaborators of this establishment attached to the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development.
Madagascar National Parks
At the present time, Madagascar National Parks is an organization responsible for the management of 43 protected sites with ecological and economic value, national parks and nature reserves across Madagascar. This includes 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Private law association created in 1990, it was recognized as being of public utility by decree on 04 December 1991. It operates under the supervision of the Ministry of the Environment, Ecology, the sea and the forests.
This organization's mission is to establish, to sustainably and intelligently manage and conserve the national network of parks and reserves, symbolizing the extraordinary wealth of the natural heritage and biodiversity of the Big Island.
