Society civil Malagasy will continue until this April 1 to meet the call for projects launched by the Department of cooperation and cultural Action of the Embassy of France. The selected projects will start in June.
This year, the Department of cooperation and cultural Action of the Embassy of France (SCAC) will fund 25 projects in various sectors, such as education, health, hygiene and sanitation, gender equality and protection of children. Projects' innovative coalitions of actors and civil societies. (PISCCA), a call for projects launched by the SCAC at the beginning of the month of February and not on April 1 will be closed next to the location of the Malagasy civil society.
Local stakeholders such as associations, NGOS, various groups, professional organizations, cooperatives, territorial communities, ... who work in the fight against poverty and the strengthening of access to fundamental rights of vulnerable populations are invited to participate in this call. The projects received in the context of this call will be subject to the Advisory Committees headed by the Ambassador of France and consisting of representatives of the Government of Madagascar, private sector, Malagasy and French civil society and technical and financial partners. This will happen to mid-May. The verdict will be known early in the month of June. The project promoter can therefore benefit from the funding upon signature of the convention with the Embassy of France in Madagascar.
154 projects funded in 20 years. The project to support the Malagasy civil society has been implemented since 1996 under the name of 'development Social Fund. (FSD). It comes as part of a memorandum of understanding between the big island and the France. This year, the Fund became the PISCCA. En 20 years, 154 projects have been funded through this Fund. And about 8 EUR million was disbursed for the Malagasy civil society. One of the objectives is also to contribute to empowerment, to promote capacity-building and the responsibility of the Malagasy civil society. Not to mention that this Fund is set up primarily to combat poverty. For this year, each project must be between 10 000 to 200 000 EUR. The start of the projects is expected around June/July 2016.
