Madagascar and the world, towards strategic progress
Madagascar and the world, towards astrategic breakthrough
The 13 May 2024 last, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rafaravavitafika Rasata presented a theme “ Madagascar and the world : Strategic advancements in a changing world ».
A big change for Madagascar
The world is changing. The eyes of the world are turning more and more towards Asia, which concentrates approximately 60% of the world population and whose economy is developing more and more (case of China and India), unlike the West whose economy is slowing down.
In terms of international cooperation, Madagascar has chosen non-exclusive diplomacy. And this by turning to all partner countries : the immediate neighborhood including the Indian Ocean and Africa, Asia, while maintaining our relations with the West. Two Madagascar embassies will soon be open : in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and in Rabat, to the Morocco.
Indeed, each external trip made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) is an opportunity to strengthen the country's credibility on the international stage. The MAE, as a ministry of sovereignty, plays a transversal role and works in concert with all ministerial departments to achieve the vision : "Madagascar Must Progress".
Madagascar opens up to the world
The guidelines for cooperation between the two countries have been reviewed, particularly projects in the field of energy (including the possibility of financing the construction of the Sahofika hydroelectric plant), agriculture and livestock, tourism and industry. The upcoming opening of a direct flight linking the United Arab Emirates and Madagascar is among the priorities of both parties.
Madagascar actively participates in various international summits and forums in order to strengthen diplomatic ties, economic and cultural with countries from the four corners of the world
Within the margins of an exclusive development, Madagascar has expressed its wish to open a new embassy in the United Arab Emirates. This wish came true during the last presidential mission to Abu Dhabi, on the occasion of participation in the 13th Annual Investment Congress.
In addition to the opening of this new embassy, bilateral meetings with senior Emirati leaders focused on strengthening cooperation in the economic and commercial fields, Energy, Tourism, the creation of agri-food industries and mines.
A good number of changes have been born since the governance of our President of the Republic Andry Rajoelina. This yields more benefit than expected. This delights several sectors in the big island.
