Twenty African countries unite in the Smart Africa project to reduce the digital divide. For sub-Saharan Africa, This alliance will bring together 300 billion USD, from here 2020, for the infrastructure and digital equipment.

African countries from the Africa Alliance Smart count rise 300 billion USD to connect sub-Saharan Africa through to infrastructure and ICT key equipment. As part of its activities, Smart Africa has already helped to set up the free roaming African which has been operating the 31 March 2017, on a single network to call and receive calls at the local without additional tax rate. Nine African countries have already adopted this new practice.
