Full reopening of Madagascar's borders
Closed since March 2020, the borders of Madagascar will finally reopen "entirely". Indeed, the Council of Ministers of 23 February 2022 announced the full reopening of Madagascar's borders on 5 March 2022, sous conditions. The drop in the number of covid-19 cases in recent months has prompted policymakers to react.

Reminder, the borders have been partially open since October 2021, but the airlines authorized to carry passengers are limited. And the only airport currently open to international is, Furthermore, that of Antananarivo.
But the government will finally put an end to the suspense concerning this reopening of the borders.
Indeed, yesterday's Council of Ministers (Wednesday 23 February 2022) decided on a conditional reopening of the borders of Madagascar from 5 March 2022.
Rules and conditions to enter Madagascar
As part of this reopening, the government will impose certain conditions on entering Malagasy territory. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Transport will inform of these rules and conditions at a later date.
All passenger airlines authorized to operate in Madagascar on departure and arrival are affected by this reopening.
They must nevertheless submit to the measures that the State will decide. “Foreign airlines can return to provide online connections to and from the Big Island. At least, as soon as they accept the conditions put in place by the Malagasy State”, indicates the communiqué of the Council of Ministers.
In addition, systematic RDT tests for passengers on domestic flights will be suspended.
