World Rugby and the African Rugby Confederation have accepted Madagascar's request to host the Women's Rugby Union AFCON. It will take place from 19 to the 29 may 2023.

The Women's African Rugby Cup is a continental rugby union competition between the best national teams of African countries. Madagascar will be the host country this year. The competition will bring together four major nations of the discipline, namely South Africa, and Kenya, Cameroon and Madagascar. The match will be played in Antananarivo from 19 to the 29 may 2023. The schedule is already known and the four countries will each play three matches. “Whoever scores the most wins and accumulates the most points will be declared African champion and will represent the continent at the Category B World Cup in 2025”, confide Antsoniandro Andrianorosoa, DTN of Malagasy Rugby.

Two meetings every four days, spanning three days, will be on the program during this continental game. Madagascar will start the competition against Kenya on 20 may, while South Africa will face Cameroon. The 24 may, South Africa will be opposed to Kenya while Madagascar will fight against Cameroon. The 28 May will be the highlight of the show as Madagascar will face South Africa while Kenya will cross swords against Cameroon. On paper and in the filing, South Africa takes first place, Madagascar is in second position, followed by Kenya third and Cameroon fourth.
