The sights of the Boeny - ANKARAFANTSIKA national park
A 450 km from Antananarivo and at 114 km from Mahajanga on the national road n ° 4, This beautiful deciduous dry forest park, consisting of two botanical gardens, the Ravelobe Lake, the Ankarokaroka canyons and the turtles breeding centre is a must-see site of the Boeny.
Ankarafantsika, its thorny origin 'Garafantsy' or 'mountain '., is one of the eco-tourism sites major of the country because of its faunal biodiversity and flora exceptional that spans 135 000 HA : 8 species of lemurs (1 daytime, 5 Nocturnes and 2 mixed), 129 bird species whose 75 endemic, local endemic reptiles (chameleons, iguanas, snakes and freshwater turtles), 823 plant species with 82% endemic.
It is also a fascinating cultural journey in culture sakalava with the tombs of Kings (Doany) at Andranomiditra, Doany of Betsioka to Bealana, Doany of Ambalabongo and Ravelobe Doany.
The Ankarafantsika National Park is accessible year-round (2h drive from Mahajanga and 8 h of road from Antananarivo).
