Phil Marso, freelance writer and promoter of this citizen appointment since the 6 February 2001 offers 3 days of reflection on the “Mobilou”, technological tool that changed human behavior in its way of communicating.
En 2003, an ecologist association attempted to retrieve this citizen appointment, proof of the growing interest of the initiative which could appear whimsical at the start.
Since 2004, This day takes place on three days, the 6, 7 and 8 February… certainly for taking the time to pick up. We will therefore speak now world day without phone.
En 2016, the creator of the day offers 6 challenges to verify that it remains still independent its smartphone.
A bit of history
The 6 February is the symbolic date of this day because it is the Saint Gaston ! Remember this verse of Nino Ferrer : “Gaston y'a the telefon which sound, And y' ever person who responds”.
Mode d ’ initial use of world day was radical : do not use his cellphone the 6 February to know what relationship it maintains with his camera. At the time the phone was still a companion relatively little invasive, It merely call. But that was before !
and appeared the first smartphones…
The proliferation of phones “Intelligent” a considerably changed the situation and new generations of devices perform multiple tasks. It would be therefore inappropriate to ask any of everyone not at all use its smartphone.
But, ask the quesrtion of the relationship that one has with its material and always beneficial. Tell me your addictions, I'll tell you who you are !
Telephony and ecology
Each year, No phone porable day offers a theme of reflection. En 2015, It's the environment with 5 tracks of reflexions:
Many heavy metals and organic pollutants are used to make your smartphone. These substances cause a mad dash to the extraction, degradation of the environment and even wars (as in the Republic of the Congo).
Employees of the manufacturing plants are exposed to poisons at the time of their manufacture.
Many children are operated on behalf of multinational unscrupulous that sell you (price of gold) these fabulous toys.
The life cycle of smartphones is not properly controlled and many polluting components are beyond recycling.
Will the proliferation of electromagnetic waves coming from smartphones affect climate ?
For the moment, the Department of ecology has not yet invented the green sticker that will allow you to use your mobile phone in cities… you see, the situation is not hopeless.
