The private sector is mobilized against the exploitation of children in tourism.
The role and initiatives of the private sector to combat the exploitation of children in tourism have been at the heart of the discussions of the global network on the protection of children in tourism, which held its thirty-first session on the occasion of the ITB in Berlin.
Advocacy work, the training of the personnel and the implementation of measures throughout the tourism value chain have been cited as critical factors.

The global network on the protection of children in tourism is a network managed by the UNWTO to limited and multi-party composition involving a range of actors in the tourism : public authorities, international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOS), groups of tourism professionals and media associations. Its mission : the prevention of all forms of exploitation of children in tourism sector (sexual exploitation, child labour and trafficking in children). Meetings of the network, organized at an annual rate at trade shows travel and tourism among the most prestigious in the world, are an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices, to present material awareness and capacity-building as well as tools to promote the adoption of professional codes of conduct and other responsible practices consistent with the Global Code of ethics for tourism prepared by the World Tourism Organization.
