Festival of the cinemas of Africa of the country of Apt FCAPA : young filmmakers called to participate !
APT, What is ?
The community of communes of the country of Apt was a French Communauté, located in the Vaucluse Department in the Department of the Alpes de Haute Provence. It was dissolved in the 31 December 2013 to merge with the Communauté de communes de Pont Julien and two common isolated to form the community of communes of the country of Apt-Luberon.
This is probably the only festival for African filmmakers only.
Again this year, the seventh Malagasy art lovers are therefore called to participate and submit their film.
Registration for the next edition of the FCAPA is already open to the 30 next June. It is certainly one of the biggest festivals of organized for African cinemas. Since more than a dozen years, This festival has been able to meet Africans passionate about the seventh art, whether they are amateur or professional, young or old. For this 14th edition, fiction, documentary and animation in version short and feature films will be on the menu for the African candidates, including the Malagasy. Arnel Ratovo, with its title «Malagasy Mankany» en 2013 or even Manohiray Randriamananjo with «Afropower» and «Cinémahantra» en 2011, have already brought honour to their peers by participating in this festival. It is in this direction that we would like to encourage the talented to send their film to the organizers, not only to represent the country, but above all to implement their competence.
The main axes of the festival.
The FCAPA (Festival of the cinemas of Africa of the country of Apt) has been created in 2003 associations committed both on the ground of dialogue with Africa (Apt-Bakel twinning Committee), of the cinema (Projections) as cultural action in schools (The taste of read pays d'apt). These three areas continue to draw a project of discovery and recognition of African cinemas. It is primarily the project, film, to show the public with exciting and yet little diffuse films, a great diversity of origins, of genera, writes.
It is not so much "African movies" than the works of filmmakers from Africa, dealing with universal subjects, in the light of their stories and those of a multiple continent, divided, operated, lived deep values and fed a carrier energy of hope. It is also a commitment, as far as cultural policy, to see Africa through its own eyes, those African filmmakers. Meeting of the public with these films and their directors thus engages in a dialogue with the African continent as he was, tells, imagines.
This dialogue, the Festival proposes to the diversity of audiences in the country of Apt and the Provence region and preferred way, to the young audience. Day high school girl, day schoolgirl, jury schoolboy, production of films involving the Cité scolaire, Convention of life schoolgirl and apprentice with the Region are strong moments that punctuate and characterize the Festival. Young Malagasy directors, eager to represent the country and experience this unique and rewarding are thus called to participate. Applications are admissible up to the 30 June. Any takers !
