21 flights per week based on a traffic forecast of 72.000 passengers for the next three months
The Ministry of Transport and Meteorology has authorized 21 flights to and from Madagascar for this month of April.
Actually, it will be these seven companies which will operate the flights for this first wave. The ministry is counting on a traffic forecast of 72.000 passengers for the next three months, indicating that the authorizations granted comply with the provisions of the air agreements between the countries concerned.
“Better connectivity” and more “competitiveness”
The ministry actually hopes that this resumption of flights will ensure “better connectivity”. And will allow more “competitiveness” between airlines in order to “lower prices”. He believes that this decision “will improve the situation of sectors related to aviation”. And therefore “will contribute to the development of economic activities in general”.
This is just a list for the first wave of airlines authorized to operate again to the destination Madagascar. The Ministry of Transport announces its plan to extend this decision to other areas with strong economic and tourist potential..
