Renewal of the fleet of Air Madagascar by Coco Lodge Majunga

Renewal of the fleet of Air Madagascar : the first ATR 72 600 coming in here today 15 March.

The dates of arrival of the two ATRS were revealed by the Air Madagascar company finally after months of wrangling and reflections. These famous dates are the 15 March and the 15 April.

Faced with the arrival of these new devices, the national airline aims to diversify its operations regionally and nationally. Indeed, the company is developing its entire strategy to get out of Annex B of Europe as quickly as possible.
Flight schedules will see improvements and departure times will be more regular.
New transversal lines are being developed with new tariff offers as well as new flight programs in order to increase the frequency of flights to tourist cities. With these two devices, Air Madagascar hopes to revitalize and redensify its activities both at the national level, regional and international.

The project to rent two Avro RJ85s abandoned in favor of two ATRs
It is expected that the first ATR 72 arrive on 15 March of this year, followed by the second unit one month later, be the 15 of April.
The long-awaited arrival of these planes will increase the number of aircraft integrating the fleet of the national company in this category to five..
The decisions leaned in favor of the ATR planes and not the Avro 85 because of the cost of these.
Indeed, the company can save money by choosing ATRs rather than Avros. Technical reasons have also been taken into account, in particular the fact that the use of ATRs better corresponds to the skills of the company's personnel.
Similarly, these models are best suited to existing airport infrastructure.

2002 :
Struck by the national socio-political crisis, the company is experiencing major difficulties.

She must part with her two Boeings 767(200 and 300). A Boeing 767-300 leased to Blue Panorama provides long-haul connections to Paris CDG for almost a year. Air Madagascar is also excluded from the IATA Clearing House. European JAR-145 aeronautical maintenance certification is suspended.

A contract was then signed with Lufthansa Consulting to restructure and turn around the company.

The arrival in the fleet of this aircraft (who carried out a Check-C in Shannon, in Ireland, where it will also be repainted in the colors of Air Madagascar) is a relief for Air Madagascar and its customers, since it will make it possible to reschedule the part of the flights to Europe which had to be canceled following the withdrawal of 5R-MFF.

2009 :
To develop its network to Asia, major economic center, the company opens the Guangzhou destination in China.

2011 :
