Madagascar Airlines : Acquisition of an Embraer 190 E2

The signature of partnership between Madagascar Airlines and the manufacturer Embraer was well held in Iavoloha last Wednesday. A signature that leads toacquisition by Madagascar Airlines of an Embraer aircraft 190 E2 to complete its fleet.

Madagascar Airlines, Embraer and Azorra signed the partnership agreement formalizing the acquisition of an Embraer 190 E2 by the Malagasy airline.

This Embraer 190-E2 will join the existing fleet of Madagascar Airlines, currently composed of six ATRs that the national company also leases as well as two Air Madagascar Airbus A340s which are not operational. This new device will allow Madagascar Airlines to improve the national and regional connectivity of the country and to open new markets which were previously beyond his capacity, takes over Michal Nowak from the Brazilian manufacturer.

With a capacity of 96 seats, in a two-class configuration, business and economic, and a range of 2850 nautical miles, or approximately six hours flight, the Embraer 190-E2 will allow Madagascar Airlines to strengthen domestic connections and better connect the island to the rest of the region and to even more distant destinations, like Dubai among others.

A new Managing Director

But the airline's recovery plan also needed a crisis manager. As such, Thierry de Bailleul has been appointed as the company's new Managing Director. He was a Vice President of Sales for Europe at Qatar Airways.. And the General Manager France of the Dubai airline Emirates.

It was officially presented last Wednesday in Iavoloha during the signing of the acquisition by Madagascar Airlines of the Embraer aircraft 190 E2. He is very ambitious and confident, delivers its vision and priorities for the recovery of the national airline.
