Madagascar has been voted the best green destination in the Indian Ocean 2022 ou « Indian Ocean’s Leading Green Destination 2022 », for the sixth consecutive year. This prize was awarded by the World Travel Awards. It rewards the tireless efforts made for years by all Malagasy tourism stakeholders..

Created in 1993, The World Travel Award is an annual event designed to recognize, reward and celebrate excellence in all sectors of the global tourism and travel industry.

The Big Island is thus ahead of the Comoros, Mauritius, Seychelles, Reunion and the Maldives in this category.

Actually, this new award confirms the status of Madagascar, a flagship destination for ecotourism in the Indian Ocean.

On his Facebook page, the National Office of tourism of Madagascar (ONTM), who is delighted with this recognition, proudly undertakes to pursue its mission of promoting the Madagascar destination.

Also, the Spanish consulting firm Bloom Consulting has ranked Madagascar in the top 10 of the most attractive African countries. It is in 9th place just behind the Seychelles. And is ahead of countries like Rwanda, Ethiopia, of Namibia or Botswana.

Overall, the ranking highlights the importance of social networks to attract tourists. “The study combines factors like economic performance, Nation Branding strategies and the online presence of different countries to assess their attractiveness to tourists from all over the world”, explains the Spanish cabinet.
