Renewable energy : Call for private investment to speed up electrification

Energy is said to be renewable when it comes from sources that nature renews continuously, as opposed to a non-renewable energy whose stocks are running out.

Renewable energy come from 2 large natural sources : the Sun (at the origin of the water cycle, tides, the wind and plant growth) and the Earth (which gives off heat).

Dubbed "clean energy" or "green energy"., their operation generates very little waste and emissions, but their energy power is much lower than that of non-renewable energy

Provided by the Sun, the wind, the heat of the Earth, the water falls, the tides or the growth of plants, renewable energy generate little or no waste or emissions. They participate in the fight against the greenhouse effect and the CO2 emissions in the atmosphere, facilitate the rational management of local resources, generate jobs. The solar (Solar photovoltaic, solar thermal), Hydro, wind power, biomass, geothermal energy are energy inexhaustible flow compared to 'energy stock"from the deposits of fossil fuels in the process of rarefaction : oil, coal, lignite, natural gas.

Enter the world of renewable energy : What sources of energy ? For what needs ? How to pick them up, turn them ? What form to use them ?

Another call for proposals for investment in renewable energy is provided at the beginning 2017, If the first appeal was launched in April 2016. Indeed, It is actions taken as part of the electrification of the EU funding initiative (Electrification), who is a capital facility risk innovative, to mobilize, to accelerate and to stimulate investment from the private sector and to increase and improve access to affordable and reliable renewable energy in developing and emerging countries.

This new financing instrument is a joint initiative of the European Commission and 15 Grouped within the association EDFI European financial of development institutions. Electrification currently has a budget of about 84 million euros provided by the European Commission and Power Africa. EDFI Management Company SA ensures its implementation and management. So far, a workshop on the financing of renewable energy will be held in the Carlton Anosy. Organized by the European Union, the Malagasy Ministry of energy and oil and gas, the ADER (Development of the rural electrification Agency) and by German Cooperation (GIZ), the meeting aims to accelerate the development of electrification in Madagascar.
