A festival in honor of humpback whales
The new edition of the famous Festival of the whales is to be included in the agendas for this year 2015.
For lovers of humpback whales, the appointment will be of 04 to the 12 July next to Sainte Marie island, this corner of paradise in the heart of the Indian Ocean.
The Festival of whales will be under the aegis of Muhammad RAJAONARIMAMPIANINA, First Lady of Madagascar, as well as the famous host's televised Julien LEPERS.
Sponsorship of the festival by these important personalities demonstrates its breadth and its prestige.
Humpback whales come to breed every year in Sainte Marie.
Taking place during this period, the festival is an opportunity to draw attention to these cetaceans.
CETAMADA, an association whose goal is the preservation of marine mammals, with the Office of tourism of Sainte Marie (OTSM) and population Saint Gnana, have taken the initiative of the Organization of the Festival of whales.
A program loaded for the festivities
A grand parade is planned during the Festival of whales. Each of 17 districts of Sainte Marie island will contribute to this parade through a theme drawn for each quarter : Pirate, Queen, Lemur, Ravinala, Coconut tree, Canoe, Turtle...
On the other hand, between concerts, exhibitions and various games, visitors will have a variety of fun activities for a pleasant stay during the week of the festival. The goal is also to discover the culture of the island and federate the population to participate in these activities.
It is known that two Malagasy superstars, Jerry Marcos and WAWA, have already been booked to animate the 4 planned concerts stand on the Madame island. In the city centre, booths will be arranged for exhibitions on La Bigorne avenue.

So travellers can attend this event, the OTSM, in collaboration with the tourist service providers on the island of Sainte-Marie, has put at the disposal of the travel of circuits and trips departing from Antananarivo, Paris and île de La Réunion.
