In order to respond to this request, The Ministry of Tourism and Crafts launched, training intended for local actors. This one, taking place 3 to the 14 February 2025. Which aims to strengthen the skills of participants in the reception of tourists.

A key aspect of this training concerns the possibility for residents of the region to transform their homes into a guest rooms or a stopover. This project is part of the initiative “Residents' tourism”. Which is a pillar of tourism development in the region. Participants in this training will also benefit from advice on sustainable management of their activities. At the same time, they will learn to take into account the environmental impact and promote respect for local ecosystems .

Mahajanga : Sustainable tourism at the heart of the regional strategy

Local authorities are implementing initiatives to preserve the environment while promoting economic growth. Procedures for the opening of guest rooms and lodges will be facilitated. And a partnership with financial institutions has been implemented. This is to support the financing of tourist infrastructure renovations.

The objective is to promote tourism respectful of nature and local cultures, while contributing to the boom in the tourism sector. This sustainable tourism model also aims to improve the living conditions of local communities while preserving the natural and cultural wealth of the region.
