Breton surfers interested in MAHAMBO

The passion of surfing brought together ten surfers from Finistère in a common project on the East coast of Madagascar.
This humanitarian project keeps a component found on surfing in order to enjoy the beauty of this region.

For discovery
The idea of this mission in Malagasy land comes a discovery : local young people practice surfing using simple pieces of wood and used boards that tourists would have allowed.
The Mi-Ma Surf Mission saw the day in November 2014 under the leadership of Mathieu Carpentier. The Ambassador of the association is none other than the vice-champion of Europe Benoît Carpentier, brother of Mathieu.
His contribution helped the project MI Surf to come forward in all the competitions in Europe and in the world.

For learning
An educational component is planned in the project team.
' humanitarian team that will leave the Brittany at August 2015 will be composed of 10 Members : six girls and four boys of 15 to 31 years.
At Mahambo, village of fishermen on the coast East of Madagascar, North of Toamasina, the team plans to give courses and training on the practice of the surf.
This will be a knowledge transfer.
For the moment, the challenge is to find material to surf in the different centres of Britain.

In parallel with this surf component, mission Mi-Ma, MI for Mission and my for Mahambo, will perform medical actions like screening for malaria, distribution of bed nets and medicines and a prevention campaign on the risks of AIDS.
The team has 3 nurses and a dentist.

Mahambo : a haven of peace

Mahambo is a small paradise on the coast of Madagascar which has preserved its authenticity and its beautiful vegetation. From Toamasina, the side port is, the road heading north along the coast, through the plantations of lychees, clove, coffee and other exotic plants to reach the resort town of Foulpointe. Mahambo is located more to the North further up the road.

This fishing village offers its visitors of the immense beaches and coves discrete and accessible. The climate in this part of the island is warm and rainy with average annual temperatures 28 ° C and an average of the maxima to 31 ° C. January is the warmest month.
