The 1st edition of the Nosy Be Symphonies festival has been a runaway success during the 06 days of unreleased concerts that have thrilled the island. Several musicians were present as well as a personality of classical music which has graced this 1st edition, in the person of Elsbieta DEDEK, a talented Belgian pianist of Polish origin. It was a first for the small island of Nosy Be : an ambitious festival of classical music was organized entitled «Nosy Be Symphonies», the festival is organized by hotel operators in the region and chaired by Alix Verhaegen, owner of the Bungalows of Doany Beach.
The Committee of organization of cultural activities of Nosy Be noted with brio the challenge which was submitted. All-Nosy-Be welcomed this new cultural animation with enthusiasm and in conquered. For this first, the success was unanimously. Curiosity has certainly awarded during opening night, but all those who were present were then swept by the fabulous variety of musical types, the talent of the musicians, the beauty of the show and especially by this melodious and enchanting music to the times.
The 2nd edition of this festival, the 22 to the 27 September 2015, promises to be even more successful than the previous
The design for this next event will remain the same. 04 major hotels in Nosy Be receive representations, including, the Golf Resort, the Nosy‐Be Hotel and Spa, Coral black/coral garden Orangea, the Vanila Hotel and Spa. These selected hotels with attention to detail will reflect perfectly the image of the festival. To participate in the event, a very large majority of the population, concerts will be given in schools and public gardens during the day on Thursday. In addition, 20 students will be invited every night to attend performances and discover this new culture.
The closing event will be, like last year, on the peak of the Mont Passot at sunset, Sunday 27 September 2015, an evening that promises magic, filled with emotion and full of surprises.
The scale of the festival has already exceeded Madagascar, because the island of Mayotte would like to receive the next edition at home.
The Festival Nosy Be Symphonies is becoming the absolute reference of the music of the Indian Ocean.
