The German reconstruction credit Institute has allocated a donation of 10 EUR million to Madagascar.
This amount, given to the network of the protected areas of Madagascar National Parks - MNP- http://www.Parcs-Madagascar.com/, will serve as the investment fund for different work.
For the welfare of the national parks of the country
Aware of the dangers that threaten the protected areas of the Red Island, Madagascar and the Germany recently signed a funding agreement which aims to strengthen the protection of natural resources and the biodiversity of Madagascar.
Thus, the German reconstruction credit Institute did not hesitate to make a donation of 10 million euros at the NPM.
This sum, equivalent to approximately 32 billion Ariary, will be used to equip the national parks of the country, to nine different already existing infrastructure, to strengthen their management, but also to improve the living conditions of the riparian inhabitants of these parks.
Existing funding will continue
According to NPM director-general, the majority of tourists travelling to Madagascar come to visit national parks, Hence the need to create new channels and improve their reception facilities.
New development projects will thus emerge shortly, the objective is to make independent the parks in question. Currently, 10 protected areas benefit from funding provided by the Germany, including the Park of Nosy Tanikely in Nosy Be already financially independent.
However, German Ambassador stressed that funding will continue. Indeed, the Germany account support the Government of Madagascar in the coming days with further assistance which will be 20 EUR million.
