Support from Germany for the development of tourism in Madagascar

During his courtesy visit to the Minister of Tourism, the German Ambassador reiterated his country's desire to support Madagascar in its efforts to develop the tourism sector.

Biodiversity : a major asset for the Madagascar destination

Son Excellence Gehrig Harald, Ambassador of Germany to Madagascar, recently visited the Malagasy Minister of Tourism, BENJAMINA Ramanantsoa. During this meeting, the German representative affirmed that the embassy is willing to support the ministry in promoting the Madagascar destination on the German market.
According to him, fascinated by Malagasy biodiversity, tourists from their country are very fond of discoveries and nature.
This is why many of them are attracted by stays in Malagasy lands.. Still in the words of the German Ambassador, Madagascar would be a “paradise on earth”.
He also highlighted the enormous potential of the Big Island in ecological tourism., sector of particular interest to investors.
Technical assistance is currently being considered by Germany.

Regarding the Master plan

With the aim of improving Malagasy air infrastructure, the possibility of a new partnership between the State and the German company Lufthansa is being studied, added HE Gehrig Harald.
Note that in terms of income from the tourism sector, Germans are among those who spend the most during their stay in the country – around ten times more than the average.
The minister, for his part, indicated that the objective for next year is to return to the level of the year 2008 in terms of the number of tourists visiting the Big Island.
This implies greater support from the Madagascar National Tourism Office (ONTM) in its work to promote the destination. The updating of the tourism master plan is also to be expected according to Minister Benjamina Ramanantsoa.

    I am happy to see Germany wanting to help Mada ,for tourism ,,I only hope that these poor people,who lives in incredible poverty can benefit from something for them ,because everything and give to the rulers ,which unfortunately does nothing to improve me from these poor people ,,they live very well ,,the the problem ,,too much difference ,,and it’s terrible for its people and for tourism ,who would like to see their people,with the necessary ,,
