Since its first edition in 2013, the “Red Island Ride” continues to introduce Madagascar in another way. Indeed, besides the sporty side of the “Red Island Ride”, riders will have the opportunity to discover the unique fauna and flora of the Malagasy highlands. The most important will be the meeting with the villagers of the small remote villages of the country including most have never met “vazahas”, strangers. Above all, the organizers want riders to be able to take home, in their hearts something unforgettable, part of Madagascar. It’s already a won bet since the first raid in 2013. In the same perspective, for the duration of the raid, the partners of the “Red Island Ride”, notably Boogie Pilgrim, will organize interesting tourist programs.
Program and technical side of the Red Island Ride 2015
The “Red Island Ride” is organized by a team of Experienced South African mountain bike specialists. The Route Director, Glenn Harrison, and his team have once again chosen circuits as unusual as they are unusual for this Edition 2015. Circuits, However, difficult and quite technical in the mountainous region of the Hauts-Plateaux. There will be more 265 km to travel in 6 stages with positive elevations of 500 to 1.600 m. It should be noted that the “Red Island Ride” follows professional standards, hence the presence of the ORRU (Off-Road Rescue Unit) to ensure appropriate medical assistance. The awards ceremony will take place in Antsirabe on 15 August around a friendly dinner.
