Orange Madagascar inaugurates the Tana-Mahajanga fiber

The 01^ER December 2025, Orange Madagascar has inaugurated a new fiber optic link 558 km. This is between Antananarivo and Mahajanga. This project goes well beyond technique. It strengthens the national network and secures communications in the Northern region. Users can now benefit from a more reliable and better connection. This achievement marks an important step towards Madagascar more connected. It is part of the vision of a country turned towards the digital future and new opportunities.

A solid project supported by Orange

Building this fiber was no easy feat. Mobilizing 2 500 people for eight months, the project crossed difficult terrains and isolated areas, almost entirely to human strength, without massive recourse to modern machines.
The teams have moved forward meter by meter, guided by rigorous environmental studies and official authorizations. This project was not only a technical feat. But it was also designed for respect the environment and local communities. As a project manager points out : “We moved forward step by step, ensemble ». The conditions were not simple, but the mission was worth the effort.

The result is a strong national backbone, ready to absorb the increase in digital uses and secure transmissions throughout the country.
