Madagascar under the stars 2025

For astronomy enthusiasts, Le Festival “Madagascar under the stars” comes back from 4 to the 6 July 2025. It will take place simultaneously at Antananarivo, Antsirabe, Antsiranana and of course Majunga.

All under the stars : A festival to explore the sky

The third edition of the Madagascar festival under the stars mark a decisive turning point : for the first time, The event extends nationally. Born in 2023 in Majunga under the name Mahajanga under the stars, The festival quickly established itself as an unmissable meeting of popularization.

En 2025, Four major cities - Antananarivo, Antsirabe, Antsiranana and Majunga - Welcome the festival, transforming public places, French Alliances and Gardens of Cultural Centers in Celestial Open Open Observations.

For three days, young and old will have access to a rich and free programming : high -level conferences, fun workshops, Documentary projections, astrophy, scientific theater, as well as magical moments of observation of the sun and the starry sky.

Majunga under the stars

True to its status as a founding city, Majunga opens the festivities from the 30 June. This with an immersive week around astronomy. The Alliance Française and the University of Mahajanga will host various activities, bringing together researchers, passionate and curious of all ages.

Astronomy at hand : Learn while having fun

More than a simple festival, Madagascar under stars is a major educational project. It is aimed above all for young generations, by providing them with direct access to the science of the universe. Telescopes, Educational events, interactive conferences and quiz are designed to awaken curiosity and nourish the imagination.

« This year, We will talk a lot about the moon, but also stars visible in Madagascar, Even without equipment », explains a speaker. The festival aims to be participative and anchored in the daily life of the Malagasy : Watching the sky becomes a collective party, A moment of meeting between science and culture.
