World AIDS Day is celebrated every year on December 1, all over the world. The day is an opportunity to raise, to commemorate those who have died, and celebrate victories such as increased access to treatment and prevention services.
UNAIDS has taken the lead in campaigning for World AIDS Day since its inception in 2004. Since then, The Global AIDS Campaign Committee began selecting a theme for the Day, in consultation with civil society, organizations and government agencies involved in the AIDS response.

Madagascar, to mark World AIDS Day, an awareness and screening day was organized at Orange Madagascar headquarters. Their colleagues participated in the blood donation, AIDS screening, awareness for the fight against AIDS, then on violence against women and young girls.
Various partners in the health field actively participated to make the day a moment of sharing :
> Ostia has thus deployed an additional system to allow employees and members of their families to benefit from free screening for diabetes and blood pressure.
> The National Committee for the Fight against AIDS (CNLS), UNAIDS and PSI Madagascar marked their presence with various awareness-raising activities
> The Basan Group offered snacks to the participants
> Beyond actions around the fight against AIDS, the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) was able to collect blood bags intended for public hospitals in Madagascar
> The United States Embassy in Madagascar deployed its awareness-raising action on violence against women and girls (VBG : gender-based violence), thanks to an animation carried out by the Mahogany Jones group
Orange Madagascar thus reaffirms its desire to make health and security a strong axis of its Human Resources policy.
"For the time being., the national celebration of this world day for Madagascar is scheduled for December 1st in Antsiranana, but the other regions will not be left behind because other demonstrations will also be organized at the level of these communities” affirmed Firinga Johnson, president of the Mad’Aids network, confederation of associations of people living with the HIV virus.
South Africa remains the country most devastated by this disease. But efforts are being made on a global scale to significantly reduce the number of HIV-positive people in the world.. Every person has the right to health, regardless of their identity and place of residence, and this right also depends on sanitation and adequate housing, access to nutritious food, healthy working conditions and access to justice.
The right to health is based on a broader set of rights, with which he is also associated. Without the conditions allowing access to justice, the right to a clean environment, the right to protection against violence or the right to education, for example, we cannot assert our right to health.
Ending AIDS as a public health threat will only be possible if these rights are placed at the heart of global health, so that quality health care is available and accessible to everyone, without leaving anyone behind.

This year, the theme of the World AIDS Day campaign will be the right to health.
The #myrighttohealth campaign will disseminate information on the right to health and its impact on people's lives. It will also aim to increase visibility around the need to achieve the full implementation of the right to health for all., everywhere.
Almost all Sustainable Development Goals are linked in one way or another to health, so that achieving these goals, which includes the end of the AIDS epidemic, will largely depend on the application of the right to health.
Remarkable progress has been made in the treatment of HIV. UNAIDS launches new report showing access to treatment has increased significantly.
