World Development Information Day by Hôtel★★★ Gourmet Restaurant Coco Lodge Majunga
World development information day was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1972 for the attention of world public opinion on the problems of development and the need to intensify international cooperation to solve.
An international strategy for development
The Assembly decided that the date for this day would, in principle, with United Nations day, celebrated the 24 October, date on which was adopted in 1970 the international strategy for development for the second decade of the United Nations for the development.
International cooperation
The Assembly is convinced that the improvement of the dissemination of information and the mobilization of public opinion, especially among youth, would be an important factor for a greater awareness of the General problems of development, thereby the necessary increase in the efforts for international cooperation for development.

Agriculture at the service of development.
The report on development in the world by the World Bank recommends to invest more in agriculture and to place this sector at the centre of development efforts to reach from here 2015 the objective of the Millennium : reduce by half the proportion of the population living in extreme poverty. Cirad, which participated indirectly in its drafting, more specifically focused to peasant organizations and fair trade.
The emergence of farmer organizations is one of the major changes of the last twenty years in the agricultural sector of the countries of the South. Peasant organizations there are now players full, which weigh on the decisions and can, in some countries, speak in the field policy. During the preparation of the report, Cirad facilitated, in October 2006, a workshop on "Peasant and rural organizations for sustainable development in favour of the poor", which resulted in a score of representatives of organizations of producers from three continents to discuss this issue.
The fair trade movement, as for him, has experienced strong growth over the last decade. This dynamic, more manifesto on European and American markets, can now be judged on its performance and its future, enjoyed under three scenarios : the successful markets integration, stabilization as a niche market, the dissolution of the movement in its current form due to lack of clarity in its definition and its image.
