Festival Koezy : Opening of the festivities ! by Hôtel★★★ RESTAURANT gourmand COCO LODGE MAJUNGA
The regional Office of tourism of Boeny or ORTB organizes since Friday and until the 8 August, week cultural Koezy in Mahajanga.
This fifth edition of 2015 the festival's theme will be «Koezy» : «Boeny Nomaly., Boeny Nakia., literally "Boeny of yesterday., Boeny today..
The event is intended to be a place of meeting and exchanges on the Customs and practices of yesterday and today in the Boeny Region. But it is above all to become a vehicle of common fundamental values in sakalava land, among others : the brotherhood, the sense of hospitality and respect for the other, solidarity despite differences.
The festival will thus make tribute to the ancestors and the Conservatives of the tradition of ethnicity Sakalava, highlight as well as fighting against acculturation and the loss of values Sakalava globalisation. It is also intended to promote cultural tourism, foreign national or even local, in order to boost the economy of the region. Note that during holiday periods, the city of Mahajanga is one of the favorite destinations. The Sakalava is part of 18 ethnic groups in Madagascar and has a great place in malagasy society. Indeed, It is very rich in spirituality, in habits and customs.
For this year, the program is loaded with folk dances, Carnival, by morengy, Expos and "fanompoa-be.. This ritual of bathing of Royal relic at the Doany, is the most respected of all worthy of the name Sakalava. The festivities then continue with dance and the "Anna" performed by the Kings to perform the rituals of the 'Tromba' through the 'Hind '. The participants will give venue to attend this ancestral cult which will also give the audience, the opportunity to seek the blessing of the Royal ancestral spirits.
It is still very important to venerate «Kyosuke» and the «tsy hita maso' in this ethnic group full of mysteries.
The lambahoany, saron-doha, the salova, the masonjoany, the randrana, the drums will be among the colors that will be the beauty of this ethnic event.
A festival multicoloured and full of discoveries will rock the city of flowers. The malagasy people is equipped with a very rich and varied tradition, Fortunately there are still people who are aware and that highlight these traditions in the process of deculturation.
The Hanwoori will celebrate 9 days of purely cultural and traditional festivities.
The official opening of the 5th edition of the week Koezy 2015 will be held, This Monday 27 July at the city of Mahajanga town to 19 hours.
