World Cup 2026 : The last challenge of the Bareas
World Cup 2026 : The last challenge of the Bareas
As this crucial match approaches, all of Madagascar holds its breath. The Bareas are playing their last card to stay in the race for the World Cup 2026.
In a national climate tense by recent demonstrations, a thought goes out to the entire Malagasy population. May these sporting moments offer a moment of unity and shared pride.
Qualification in sight for Barea
This Sunday evening's match against Mali represents the major challenge of this elimination phase for the Barea. With 19 points (+8), the Barea occupy second place in group I. A victory is essential to hope to obtain one of the four tickets for the CAF play-offs. Facing them, the Eagles of Mali, third with 15 points (+8), are already out of the race and no longer have any particular stake in this meeting.
For Madagascar, a victory against Mali is essential to stay in the race for the World Cup. First place in the group, synonymous with direct qualification, seems difficult to reach for the Barea. But they can still aim for a place among the best runners-up to reach the play-offs. Thanks to three consecutive victories, the Bareas display great dynamics. This series proves their cohesion and determination to meet challenges.
The Bareas put to the test
The challenge is even more complicated for the coach. Three key players will be absent, suspended for accumulation of yellow cards. Rado Rabemanna, Warren Caddy and Eshan Kari will therefore be missing. A strategic reshuffle is therefore inevitable in all areas of the game.
In defense, Andy Pelmar could play center, with one of the Randriamanampisoa brothers on the right side. On attack, the coach hesitates between Bryan Adinany and Njiva Rakotoharimalala to replace Caddy, suspended. On the other hand, Arnaud is doubtful due to thigh discomfort and could give way to Rayan Ponti or Tommy Iva.
Despite these obstacles, the Bareas showed that they knew how to remain solid. This match is a real sporting challenge for them. It also symbolizes the strength and determination of an entire nation to maintain hope., even in trials.
The match will take place this Sunday 12 October 2025 at 10:00 p.m., Madagascar time.
A victory against Mali would allow Barea to continue their great adventure towards the World Cup 2026. All of Madagascar supports them with hope, passion and pride.
