The day of the UN celebrated each year the 24 October is dedicated to global efforts and the achievements of the United Nations since its inception in 1945. United Nations Day concert is an opportunity to celebrate the work of the system of the United Nations through the universal language of music.
The concert will take place in the Hall of the General Assembly, with the participation of the Korean Orchestra, KBS Traditional Music Orchestra. Lang Lang UN Peace Messenger, the duo of K - pop Davichi, the master of the Gayageum Kim Hae-Sook, and the famous choir of Harlem Gospel Choir will be the special guests of this celebration.
The concert is organized by the Department of public information in collaboration with the permanent mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations and the Korean broadcasting company.
Mrs Cristina Gallach, Secretary General of United Nations communication and information, will deliver an opening address, follow-up to the Secretary-general, M. Ban Ki-moon, and the President of the 70th session of the General Assembly, M. Mogens Lykketoft.
The musicians will be presented by Ms. Yoon Su-young, Presenter at KBS, per M. Maher Nasser, Director of the Division of the public awareness.
In parallel, 'The world in blue United Nations' campaign will be launched, with the illumination of the Hall of the General Assembly and the Secretariat in blue building. Around the world, more than 220 landmarks will participate in this campaign to unite the citizens of the world and promote a message of peace, development and respect for human rights.

The UN Secretary general, Ban Ki-moon Message 2015
A selection of photographs lighthouses and historic documents covering the great moments on 70 years of United Nations history – from its founding in San Francisco in his work around the world today – will be presented at a special exhibition at the United Nations, during the months of October and November 2015 in the lobby of the visitors to the building of the General Assembly in New York.
