Long live the Taste of France
Salted pies and quiches at Coco Lodge Majunga
Long live the Taste of France This Friday 25 September 2020, it's International Gastronomy Day, also called “Food festival” or “Taste of France”.
On this occasion, we offer varieties of pies and salted quiches at Coco Lodge Majunga in our lunch menus..
Food festival, to discover the taste of France
French gastronomy has been part of humanity's intangible cultural heritage since 2010. This recognition was followed by the launch of the “Feast of gastronomy” en 2011 at the initiative of Frédéric Lefebvre.
The Feast of Gastronomy is a great popular festival. Individuals and professionals meet and exchange at picnics, banquets, product tastings, visits to great places of French cuisine, animations in the markets or cooking workshops.
Depuis le 4 December 2017, and suite to a will of the President of the Republic to promote the excellence of French gastronomy abroad, Gastronomy Festival changes its name and is called now : "Taste of France"..
The objectives of the Feast of Gastronomy are multiple :
- celebrate France's culinary heritage, whether amateur or professional ;
- make the kitchen accessible to all ;
- promote gastronomy as a tool for regional and national economic development ;
- highlight sectors related to the kitchen sector, such as tourism, agriculture or training;
- highlight gastronomic products and their quality.
Discover the "Taste of France" in Majunga
This week, l’Hôtel★★★ Restaurant gourmand Coco Lodge Majunga vous propose tous les jours une quiche ou une tarte salée.
The pie is one of the oldest pastries, traces of it since the Middle Ages … The pastry chefs started by making salty pies, then sweetened.
The Lorraine quiche of course, which is a salty pie made of a broken dough (in east-mosellan, we gladly use a bread dough, as for the soaring pie and pizza) garnished with a migaine (culinary preparation consisting of eggs and crème fraîche, also called "goumeau" in Franche-Comté), and smoked bacon.
But also quiche with smoked salmon and dill, quiche with mushrooms and smoked breasts, shrimp and lemongrass quiche ...
Quiche Lorraine for today Thursday 24 September. And Quiche with shrimp and lemongrass for tomorrow Friday 25 September.
To be followed every day at the gourmet restaurant Coco Lodge Majunga.
