Turkish Airlines to resume flights to Madagascar
Following the meeting of the Turkish Ambassador and Minister Rolland RANJATOELINA yesterday, the 26 April, Turkish Airlines to resume flights to Madagascar. This recovery is scheduled for June 2022 with a frequency of two weekly flights.
The return of Turkish Airlines to Madagascar
Turkish Airlines is one of the companies authorized to operate on the Big Island, according to the Council of Ministers of 30 March 2022.
A meeting between Nuri Kaya Bakkalbasi, Turkish Ambassador, and Transport Minister Rolland Ranjatoelina took place yesterday in Anosy.
The opportunity for the Turkish side to request that the resumption of Turkish Airlines flights be done more quickly.
The Malagasy Minister of Transport indicates the approval of the request of the company Turkish Airlines to operate two weekly flights to Madagascar.
"I don't see why wait as long as the Turkish side is ready", continues the Minister.
These flights will be effective in June 2022, says a press release from the ministry.
More than seven companies currently
The Malagasy authorities authorized 07 airlines to serve Madagascar for passenger flights and cargo flights for this month.
The seven companies are :
- Madagascar Airlines,
- Air France,
- Air Mauritius company,
- Air Austral,
- Neos Air,
- Ewa Air,
- Ethiopian Airlines.
Currently, Kenya Airways also resumed the line to Madagascar. And Turkish Airlines will resume flights to the big island from June.
Actually, more and more companies are currently resuming their flights to Madagascar.
This resumption of flights will ensure “better connectivity”. And will allow more “competitiveness” between airlines in order to “lower prices”.
