INTELLIGIBLE TO THE VISITOR DESTINATION

Become a smart tourist destination is a prerequisite for a territory where the human and the digital mix. Beyond this premise, It is a more intelligible tourist territory design, by focusing on the experience of the visitor.
This vision, It is possible to develop the marketing of demand, based on experience and expectations of visitors and no more only to highlight products :

  • Approach 'products '. : information, transaction, action/consumption
  • Approach 'Experience '. : relationship, astonishment/emotions, transitions, connection.

This experience can be put forward through a collaboration between tourism stakeholders : the destination management organizations, territorial and business communities.

Thus, a smart tourist territory serves a double purpose : enhance the attractiveness of the destination and enhance the activation of the community ; or as like to say the expert Paul Fabing, the attractivision.

STAKEHOLDERS INVOLVED IN THE SMART TERRITORY

The smart territory is a combination of technological factors, human and institutional. Local authorities and local authorities act in favor of the intelligent city by making public data (Open data) and developing partnerships with the private sector, while involving the population.

The destination management organizations (DMOS) and tourist offices (OT) involved in this process must demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to trends. Among the actions to promote, the WMO and OT must coordinate relevant information and make them easily accessible in real time, while collaborating with local communities, tourists and the authorities to co create the tourist experience.

ACCORDING TO EXPERTS, A TERRITORY IS SMART...

... a more intelligible territory, ergonomic, Human, shared and welcoming, at the service of tourists and residents and which benefits everyone in the territory. Through their work, e-tourism experts showed that the smart destination is born of collaboration and openness of the technology community, tourism and communities.

WHAT ARE THE TOOLS OF THE SMART TERRITORY ?

Among the main infrastructure of the smart territory, There are :

  • The Wi - Fi : There are still a lot of work to make it accessible on a territory ;
  • The digital display : the first digital contact of the visitor with the destination ;
  • QR codes and NFC technology : as long as manufacturers do not allow reading of codes or tags by their mobile devices, the use by the consumer will be restrained ;
  • Smart urban development : for an intelligent energy strategy (for example the electric terminals) ;
  • Connected objects : These tools create a personal relationship with the visitor. They allow to provide the right information at the right time. It's smart phones, Interactive watches, connected bracelets, conversational robots (Chat bots) on the instant messengers, etc.
