Opening Evening : Watercolors Beautiful Island at sea

Daniele CASTAIGNE, painter chose the hotel★★★ Coco Lodge in Majunga, for his watercolor exhibition Belle Ile en Mer, the 15 December 2023 to the 15 January 2024. Opening reception by invitation 15 December 2023 to 19 hours.

Who is Daniele CASTAIGNE ?

The Belle Ile en Mer exhibition, is an illustration of Madagascar, continuous source of inspiration for the artist.

Although French, Danièle is a girl from the Betsileo country, born in Ambositra and returned to France as a child.

His return to Madagascar in 2009, was first touristy before becoming a retirement project, before the wonder of this country and its people, of which she is a little part.

Danièle is completely self-taught, she refuses to be influenced by rules or fashions.

It is in 2003, following the tragic loss of a child, that she devoted herself to painting as therapy.

After acrylic, the oil followed suit. She tried hard to practice all subjects, Landscapes, portraits, Animals, still lifes and even abstract. His many mistakes were his school of perseverance, curiosity, quality and originality. After several successful exhibitions in France, she leaves her permanently in 2009, to progress in Majunga.

Demonstrating his brush and color expertise, Danièle confirmed herself in this art after several local exhibitions.

En 2018, opening another home in Amborovy, she takes on a new challenge, watercolor. Here again, the pitfalls were numerous, but whatever…

Today his painting testifies to enthusiasm and an obvious search for quality.. His watercolor presents the originality of combining the oil technique, painting with quick or slow strokes, pressed or touched, with the work on the constraint of water by stamping or impregnation of the paper.

On the other hand, the use of ink which highlights certain contours, gives strength and refinement to Danièle’s watercolors.

No doubt, that you will love its lazy waters, its lush greens, his serious or smiling faces.

Without forgetting black and white which is another string to his bow.

Special evenings in December

Throughout this month of December, Coco Lodge Majunga organizes Princess evenings every Friday evening.
