Resumption of Mayotte – Majunga flights and relaxation of travel restrictions to Madagascar
Yesterday's Council of Ministers, the 30 March 2022 announced the resumption of Mayotte – Majunga flights and the easing of travel restrictions to Madagascar. Connections “La Réunion - Toamasina”, “Reunion-Nosy-Be”, “Reunion-Tana”, “She is – Mayotte”, “Mayotte – Nosy Be” and “Mayotte – Antsiranana” will also reopen.

Reduction of health measures and more international flights
The Malagasy State has decided to increase the frequency of international flights between Antananarivo and Paris in order to help lower plane ticket prices.
The company Turkish Airlines will be authorized to carry out flights between Antananarivo and Turkey, as well as between Antananarivo and Paris, passing through Turkey.
Connections “La Réunion - Toamasina”, “Reunion-Nosy-Be”, “Reunion-Tana” will reopen, just like the connections “Mayotte – She is”, “Mayotte-Nosy be”, and “Mayotte-Antsiranana”.
Similarly, flights between Madagascar and Mauritius will also be able to resume.
Negotiations are, however, underway regarding the Ethiopian Airlines company..
Reduction of measures
Another good news ! Now, health measures at the airport will be relaxed.
The PCR test on arrival is replaced by a simple antigen test. The authorities have also removed the obligation of confinement upon entry to Madagascar, except for passengers who tested positive for Covid-19.
Indeed, we will no longer require a PCR test from passengers arriving in Madagascar. The Council of Ministers announces that “international passengers must undergo an antigen test on arrival”.
They are also no longer obliged to confine themselves to the hotel unless the antigen test is positive..
If the result of the antigen test is positive, the passenger must confine himself to the hotel or to a care center approved by the State for a period of at least seven days, until you test negative for Covid-19.
The Council of Ministers insists, Furthermore, on the obligation for all passengers to carry out a PCR test before departure to Madagascar. Only passengers presenting a negative test result for Covid-19 at check-in will be able to board.
Ewa Air : Ready to take off again to Madagascar
Reminder, the Mahorese company Ewa Air is already ready to take off again to Madagascar.
Mr Ayub Ingar, the director of the Mahorais company has already said he is ready to take off his aircraft again towards Madagascar.
Ewa Air maintained their flight schedule during the crisis to plan for the restart and be able to resume flights within 48 hours.
