Flights aboard a Boeing 787-800 d’Ethiopian Airlines
As already announced, Air Madagascar (or Madagascar Airlines) will continue to lease aircraft to carry out its commercial flights. For this month of December, it's a Boeing 787-800 of Ethiopian Airlines which was chartered by the Malagasy company.
For the month of November, it was an Air Europa Boeing which operated the Madagascar Airlines flights.
The company explains the choice of Boeing 787-800 by concerns of travel comfort of its passengers “both in business class, than in economy class ». However, the company does not give the reasons for the migration to Ethiopian Airlines..
For December, Madagascar Airlines plans to remain on two flights per week between Madagascar and France. Return economy class flights always cost from 860 euros from Antananarivo for certain dates, and from 1.035 euros from Paris.
Madagascar Airlines, currently in receivership, is obliged to resort to aircraft rental for its commercial activities. But the situation should not last more than four months, said Tinoka Roberto Raharoarilala, Minister of Transport and Meteorology, while they repair the company's Airbus A-340.
The minister declared that 5 million dollars had been allocated by the State to put this aircraft back on its feet.
