In a letter to the Minister of Transport, S2O denounces a lack of transparency in the process. He also criticizes the attitude of the DGAC (Directorate General of Civil Aviation), accused of not respecting ministerial instructions. Since January 2023, No meeting of the steering committee took place, and the information available is insufficient.

Technical decisions questioned and neglected expertise

The DGAC recently made a unilateral decision by rejecting the Small Terre extension scenario, for the benefit of Grande Terre, by invoking natural risks. This decision was made without prior consultation or official communication with the national public debate commission (CNDP).

S2O expresses its astonishment in the face of the absence of scientific consultation on such a file. The stability of the territory, especially due to the seismo-volcanic risks linked to the Fani Maoré volcano, is at the heart of the issues.
