Thanks to the health care staff !
A big thank you to the health staff !
All over the world, they are under increasing stress and insecurity in the face of an increasingly complex environment. Let's not fail to say thank you to the health care staff !
The ageing of the population, diseases such as covid-19 as well as the growing burden of other diseases, escalating conflict and violence are all challenges that health workers must be prepared to address.
On the front line
Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, they're on the front line. They are on the front lines in the fight against the virus. They work like “Hero”.
Doctors, nurses or nursing assistants, … For their dedication they became the “Hero” global consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, which has so far made more 183 000 dead and 2,6 million infections.
Our “Hero” suffer for us
In Italy, one of the most affected countries in the world, dozens of doctors and nurses died of coronavirus and thousands of health workers were infected.
Silvana Di Florio, nurse coordinator at the Covid-19 intensive care unit at Tor Vergata Hospital in Rome explains that : “Medical staff must not get sick, not so much for his ability to work but because it wouldn't be fair !”
At war without weapons
In many countries, lack of masks, gowns and other protective equipment puts them at risk, them and their patients.
In Guayaquil, they're worried. “We went to war without weapons !”. “We did not have personal protective equipment, but we could not refuse to take care of the patients”….
Not easy
“It's also complicated with family”, dr. Roger Etoa, doctor 36 years in Douala, one of Cameroon's main cities, among the most affected in sub-Saharan Africa.
“I live with my wife and children, When I arrive at night I go to the shower, but it's hard to stop kids from jumping on you”, does he testify.
Thanks to the health care staff : Recognition of President Malagasy
The President of the Republic of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina reacted to provide comfort and express state thanks to health care workers. He claimed that : "All health care workers will be awarded a risk premium".
"You are our army in this health war. (…) I am here to express my thanks to you, starting with the teachers, up to the surface technicians and security guards who are at the gate”.
“They give their lives forgetting themselves”
Anne-Marie Oudard wrote a short poem to support healthcare workers.
They don't count their hours,
they don't count their hearts,
and they do not count their bodies.
Lines drawn from long nights,
they give their lives smiling,
they give their lives forgetting themselves.
We watch for them,
we are waiting for them;
Being is their only recognition.
Yet, they relieve so much pain,
barely glimpsed.
Let's open our windows wide,
Let's wear them,
Let's help them !
They are the representatives of humanity,
They are so human !
Let's take care of our caregivers during this time of health crisis. We need to help them relax, decompress and take time for themselves.
Stay home !
