Gourmet menu and evening Koezy tonight !
A week rich cultural perspective earthen Sakalava:
Koezy cultural festival is in its fourth edition this year. Up to the 2 August, different festivities on the sakalava traditions, including the Sasalapa, the Morengy, the Fanompoa Be (bath of royal relics at the Doany), the Tsimandrimandry or the Rebika as well as conferences are on the program in Mahajanga.
This festival was born from the observation of the progression of deculturation among young people in particular and Malagasy society in general., the loss of references and landmarks, as well as moral values that constitute the bedrock of Malagasy culture and society.
It starts from the awareness that there can be no sustainable human development without a framework and cultural support rooted in the history of the region..
Koezy thus appears as an opportunity to re-immerse the population in its deep roots., and his past, to better integrate it into the present, in order to allow each of its components to project themselves without anxiety into the future and find their place there, as well as the role it should play in the development of society, and to challenge the local and international community on the fundamental importance of culture in regional and national development.
In the Sakalava tradition, Koezy translates to a greeting, a bow addressed to important personalities or people one respects, especially the raiamandreny and the ancestors. Koezy also symbolizes welcome and is used to show welcome to all arrivals..
