Travel formalities are changing. The President of the Republic of Madagascar has decided to abolish the antigen test when entering Malagasy territory from 11 August 2022.

A half-victory for the tourism sector in Madagascar, the President of the Republic has decided to abolish the antigen test at the entrance to Malagasy territory from Thursday 11 August 2022. This news will be formalized at the next Council of Ministers..
On the other hand, the PCR -72h test is still mandatory on boarding for all passengers of 5 years and older. Indeed, the PCR test remains applicable until a new provision from the Malagasy national authority.
In addition, following the decision of the European Union on July 1st, passengers bound for Reunion or Mayotte or Paris are no longer subject to health control measures at border entry.
Mandatory negative test conditions, complete vaccination schedule, compelling reasons, sworn statement, commitments to undergo a test, traceability sheets are all repealed.
On the other hand, wearing a surgical mask remains recommended in airport areas and on board aircraft.
