There has been no major change in the arrangements to be made regarding Covid-19. In his speech yesterday to the nation, Prime Minister Christian Ntsay, however, announced certain provisions. Lighter measures were notably taken. The state of health emergency was once again extended by 15 days.

As for public demonstrations, they went from 200 to 400 people. The curfew has been moved back by an hour, if before, it was from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m., it went from midnight to 4 a.m.. In addition, the organization of events and shows is permitted throughout the territory, with the exception of the capital, Fianarantsoa I, Hydrate us, Ambatondrazaka, Avaradrano and Atsimondrano.

Madagascar's borders remain closed to passengers coming from abroad. Nevertheless, state missionaries, diplomats, experts from strategic industries working with the Malagasy State, athletes who represent Madagascar in international competitions can enter and leave the country in strict compliance with the health protocol put in place.

Officials are studying the evolution of the health situation in Madagascar and abroad, and the decision on whether to open the borders or not is expected after the new 15 days of state of health emergency.

The authorities are currently observing the evolution of cases in other countries and will make a decision in 15 days.
