The President inaugurated the Farahantsana hydroelectric plant the day before yesterday. Aware of the suffering that the population is currently facing in relation to load shedding, and admitting that the production of the Jirama is far from sufficient to satisfy the demands, President Andry Rajoelina inaugurated the day before yesterday a new hydroelectric plant, which is that of A challenge.
"This plant will contribute significantly to the financial and operational recovery of the National Water and Electricity Company of Madagascar," said Solo Andriamanampisoa, PCA from Jirama.
President Andry Rajoelina has set himself the challenge of achieving electricity production of 502 MW within five years to end load shedding.
Indeed, to prove his ambition, the Head of State provided explanations on the various projects that will be implemented to achieve this objective.

Andry Rajoelina aims to make Madagascar a showcase for energy transition in the Indian Ocean.
Currently, We, Andekaleka's central station 124 MW thanks to the 4th group installed recently.
In addition, many large-scale projects are already underway, including the Sahofika Project, the largest hydroelectric plant in the country which will reach up to 192 MW de production ; to this is added the Mandraka III hydroelectric plant which will produce 6 MW as well as the Ranomafana hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 64 MW. Discussions are also being finalized to allow the start of the Volobe project which will reach up to 120 MW, but also the installation of Antetezambato with a production capacity of 120 MW.
"We have the vision and the political will to achieve the development of Madagascar," said President Andry Rajoelina.
