Madagascar African basketball champion 3×3 en 2024 Women & Men

This year, Madagascar has made basketball history 3×3 world at home in Antananarivo. Indeed Madagascar won the African champion titles 2024 in the women's and men's basketball categories 3×3, while achieving an exceptional journey.

Madagascar Basketball 3×3 Women and Men are thus qualified for the World Cup in Mongolia in 2025.

A historic victory for Madagascar at the Africa Cup 2024

The two Ankoay national teams from Madagascar wrote a page of history by winning the sixth edition of the Africa Cup 2024. The women's and men's Ankoay triumphed over their respective opponents, Egypt and Rwanda, thus becoming African champions. This victory marks a key moment in the history of Malagasy basketball. This match took place at home, at the Mahamasina Sports Palace.

A rage to defeat female Ankoay

The Ankoay women delivered a thrilling final against Egypt, winning with a score of 20-15. Madagascar was able to win thanks to a solid and courageous performance, led by the incredible Christiane. She was voted MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament.

This first coronation for the women’s team is a remarkable achievement, driven by the unfailing support of the Malagasy public.

Unchallenged domination of male Ankoay

On the men's side, Madagascar's domination of Rwanda was impressive. The Ankoay crushed their opponents with a final score of 22-3. Livio Ratianarivo and Elly Randrimampionona were the great architects of this victory. They played an effective game, of great mastery. This second African title for Madagascar in the men’s category confirms the rise of the team, who remains undefeated since the start of the tournament.

The two titles won allow Madagascar to secure its place for the Mongolian World Cup in 2025. A new international challenge on the horizon for the Ankoay.
