As part of negotiations with the IMF, The Malagasy state has presented a promising objective for Madagascar Airlines. According to the memorandum of economic and financial policy (MPEF), The national airline should reach financial balance by the end 2025. This forecast follows a series of reforms undertaken since the resumption of activities of Air Madagascar and its subsidiary Tsaradia.
Among these reforms, Madagascar Airlines has undertaken a rationalization of its fleet and refocused its activities mainly on domestic transport. These measures are accompanied by digitalization efforts to improve productivity while reducing operational costs. The MPEF also underlines that a loan of 25 million dollars was granted by the World Bank to support the restructuring of the company. This with an additional loan of 35 million dollars in preparation for upcoming investments.
