According to Valery Ramonjavelo, new Minister of Transport and Meteorology, Madagascar Airlines continues its recovery actions, and plans to double its airline fleet within a few months.

Over the past few months, four ATR type aircraft provided domestic flights. According to a manager within Madagascar Airlines, « it is thanks to the flight planning that these four planes can effectively serve the national route ».

With only four operational aircraft, the minister considers that the domestic flights of the national company are insufficient to meet the needs. By the end of the year, the airline will make additional efforts. Two other planes will arrive between the end 2024 and beginning 2025, according to the plan presented by Madagascar Airlines in March 2024. As a result, according to the Minister of Transport, “the arrival of the fifth plane will be planned for next month, and the sixth in October ».

The planes for rent are ATR types 72-500 and ATR 72-600, according to the minister's details.
