Madagascar Airlines : Immediate measures and promising recovery

Faced with recent operational challenges, Madagascar Airlines deploys measures to resolve the situation of stranded passengers. This while continuing its long-term recovery.

Solutions for stranded passengers

Since Sunday 10 November 2024, Madagascar Airlines has implemented an emergency plan to reorganize flights and reroute stranded passengers. All travelers scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were contacted to reschedule their flight free of charge. A call center was open until midnight to facilitate reservation changes. And airports will offer this option to all passengers at check-in.

In order to meet the high demand, two additional planes will be operated until Wednesday. Exemptions for night flights have been requested for Monday and Tuesday. From Wednesday, three additional planes, including one repaired and one replacement Q400, will be put into service to accelerate crisis management.

Madagascar Airlines on the road to recovery

Despite these temporary difficulties, Madagascar Airlines is in full recovery. For several months, the company implements strategies to improve its performance, reduce losses and modernize your fleet.

Since the beginning of the year, Madagascar Airlines shows notable progress :

• A punctuality rate of 83 % from January to October,
• A significant drop in irregularities,
• And a flight capacity increased by 17 % compared to last year

These results demonstrate the solidity of the actions taken to improve the quality of service.

The company also reduced its financial losses and rejoined IATA, which opens the way to better international cooperation.

The Madagascar Airlines fleet is in the process of restructuring with the upcoming arrival of two new planes, allowing us to offer an even more efficient service to passengers.
