Today, the 22 April 2020, we celebrate the 50th World Earth Day.

Earth Day is now recognized as the world's largest popular environmental event.

Il a été célébré pour la première fois le 22 April 1970 driven by the Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson. He encouraged students to raise environmental awareness in their communities.

All years, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the world's largest environmental movement.

Today has given a tremendous boost to reuse and recycling awareness campaigns and the United Nations Earth Summit of 1992 in Rio de Janeiro.

In the year 2000, it reached a record turnout. It was thanks to the internet in particular. In 184 country, it is estimated that the number of participants affected in one way or another was in the order of a few hundred million.

En 2006, more than 500 millions de personnes passent à l’action ou participent à un événement dans le cadre du Jour de la Terre. Over the years, le Jour de la Terre est devenu l’événement participatif écologiste le plus important de la planète.

Earth Day 2020 – virtuel

Le Jour de la Terre, organisé par « Earth Day Network » sonnera différemment, This year.

Pour célèbre son 50ème anniversaire, on prévoyait une participation sans précédent. Mais en raison de la pandémie de covid-19, la plupart des manifestations prévues ne peuvent se tenir.

Alors que des événements et des rassemblements ont habituellement lieu en cette journée de la terre, for 2020, elle sera virtuelle.

Notre planète en danger

The 30 March 2005, l’Unesco publiait la première évaluation des écosystèmes pour le millénaire, un rapport accablant sur l’impact de l’homme sur la planète. Au cours des dernières années, les activités humaines ont modifié les écosystèmes pour satisfaire une demande croissante de nourriture, d’eau douce, de bois, de fibre et d’énergie…

Added to this is the coronavirus disease pandemic. It has created a global health crisis, go hand in hand with our ecosystem.

And if this pandemic has an unprecedented impact on humans, she also has one on Earth. The economic slowdown caused by the pandemic is expected to have a smaller impact on emissions.

It all stopped, the planet seems to be at rest. But no doubt, will the pace pick up at the same time that scientists have advanced in the fight against covid-19?…

Perhaps we will remember the clear water from the canals, des dauphins, des animaux sauvages dans l’espace urbain…

Today, nous sommes en confinement chez nous, mais nous pouvons toujours faire des choses pour la terre ! Nous pouvons dédier cette journée à des opérations de lutte pour la préservation de la planète.
