Following his meeting with the members of the Groupement des Pétroliers de Madagascar, the Minister of Energy and Hydrocarbons, Solo Andriamanampisoa announced the end of the délestage.

Good news for the Malagasy population. The Minister of Energy and Hydrocarbons had a meeting with the members of the Madagascar Petroleum Group (GPM) Yesterday. According to the ministry, it was an opportunity for the two parties to "discuss" and "seek a compromise on the country's fuel supply in general and that for the Jirama in particular".

Actually, a compromise was found and the fuel supply problem of the water and electricity company is now solved.

The State will grant a loan to Jirama

The State has decided to lend money to Jirama. The decision should apply from this year, confides the Minister of Economy and Finance, Rindra Rabarinirinarison, in his intervention on the public television channel last night.

The national water and electricity company will be obliged to repay the public money loaned to it. Its non-strategic or non-production goods, such as its land or buildings, will serve as a guarantee of payment. Thus, in the event of failure to reimburse, these assets will become state property, exposes the Minister in charge of Finance.

A new start

Jirama has decided that prepaid meters are now mandatory for the Administration.
And for the private sector, Jirama has accepted the granting of preferential rates for 19 companies deemed strategic while maintaining the Optima business system for others.
