Epiphany at Coco Lodge Majunga

At Coco Lodge Majunga, Epiphany is not just a date on the calendar, it’s a real moment of sharing. From the 02 January and until 11 January, the galette des rois is offered every day. This allows everyone to enjoy this emblematic specialty at their own pace.. That we are passing through, regular customer or simply curious, the pancake naturally invites itself to the table and becomes a link between the guests.

To mark this period, Coco Lodge Majunga is organizing a special evening on Friday, on the occasion of theEpiphany. The goal is simple : offer a warm and relaxed setting where we meet around a cake, and share a good time. Here, the tradition adapts to the rhythm of each person and finds its place in a welcoming atmosphere.

Epiphany evening of 09 January 2026

A gourmet tradition with ancient roots

This year, Epiphany is celebrated on Tuesday 6 January, according to Christian tradition which places it twelve days after Christmas. As this date falls on a weekday, the galette des rois is most often eaten on the nearest Sunday, be the 4 January, in order to allow as many people as possible to get together without constraint. This adaptation fully reflects the spirit of Epiphany, a party designed above all for sharing.

This ancient tradition, inherited from both Roman rites and Christian history, relies on simple and well-known gestures. The suspense of the bean animates the sharing of the cake and designates the king or queen of a day. The ritual of the youngest guest, responsible for distributing the shares, adds a fun and friendly touch to this moment of sharing. The galette des rois symbolizes the pleasure of meeting up and sharing a moment together. It also embodies the transmission of traditions from one generation to another.. Epiphany thus becomes a warm celebration, placed under the sign of conviviality.
